We, Ron and Joe, have no idea what “pig in a poke” means. We don’t even know what a poke is (do they have those in the suburbs?). All we’ve determined is that when a pig’s in a poke it’s a bad thing. Which is why it’s strange that we, Ron and Joe, are even bringing it up here. Guess that’s the downfall of stream of consciousness marketing. Let’s try this again:
HURRY! Until January 31 you can get $100 off an Art Parts 3D Parts CD! 40 Joe sculptures of Business & Travel objects which have been photographed and saved with embedded paths. Hey Ron and Joe
I just read your latest blog and wanted to let you know that a “Poke” is a sack and the phrase “don’t buy a pig in a poke” means don’t buy something without seeing it first. My source for this information is Loreen Leedy’s book, “There’s a frog in my throat” an excellent resource for clever sayings and fun bits of information. Happy New Year!
Laurie
Dear Laurie,
We, Ron and Joe, can’t thank you enough for clearing up this whole pig in a poke thing. From now on, every time we buy something in a sack we will look inside and hope it’s not a pig. Well, maybe parts of a pig would be okay. We do enjoy a good pork chop now and then.
Yer pals, Ron and Joe
